Hacked Google Considers Out of China

The search giant, called Valley Song (Guge) in China, is finally throwing a rock into the boat and said Enough is Enough to the Chinese censor.

For years, Google has been willingly or unwillingly cooperating with Beijing and put a tight filter over what you see from searching "sensitive" words, such as Tiananmen, June Fourth, and many more. Now after severely hacked by Chinese hackers, the company said NO, even at the expense of pulling out of China altogether.

But there are also augments that Google is just a recent casualty of heating competition in Chinese search engine market, especially facing another giant Baidu. Google is citing the excuse as a face saving way to slip out of the red door.

Whatever the reasons, and it may take a while to find out the true motivations, the pullout of Google, if it so happens, will be a milestone to Chinese Great Firewall, as it serves to tell the tale that even you are as formidable as Google, you either have to compete or withdraw, half-hearted and half-closed eyes to censorship are simply not an option.

China Considers Replacing Japan To Supply Oil In Indian Ocean

Years later, history may remember that Jan. 15, 2010 marks the end of an era. On this day, Japan officially ends 8-year run as the supplier of oil in Indian ocean.

Chinese Student Caught Sneaking Into Newark Security Area

Just days after the attempted airliner attack, a 28 year old Chinese doctoral student Haisong Jiang was arrested in New York Newark Airport for sneaking into secured terminal areas without going through regular check.

The male student was caught by secure cameras (dude, they are everywhere these days!). The student was seen being warned to get too close to the security gate and he waited until no one is watching, and then crossed the gate, kissed his girlfriend (Hello, Gal, Are you standing behind this?), and they wondered towards the terminals.

The ending: the massive airport was shut down temporarily, and all passengers were ordered to re-enter the security gates. The incident had prompted a security breach that shut down Terminal C for hours and forced the rescreening of thousands of passengers.
