More Yasukuni Showing in Japan

If you have been following me on the Movie YASUKUNI, you will know, What I guessed turns out to be true.

Just when three Tokyo theaters, under threat and fear of right wing force, canceled mid April showings of the documentary YASUKUNI, and the news caught national and international news media coverage like spring wild fire, suddenly there are 21 theaters in Japan have decided to showing the movie, that is three more than previously 18 theaters before the news breakout. AND, I will be not surprised to see more to step forward, since by now the curiosity of Japanese audience have been spiced up, why not?

But, take a step back and think such a scenario, if the big audience indeed go and check out the movie, AND they find out the movie to be "Pro-China" as some Japanese LDP members claimed after they saw it, then the question is, does the movie really serve well the purpose of "Letting the Japanese aware the History Truth"?

For now, it looks like a good start, if the box office sells well, it may well end up returning the fund it received from Japan's Ministry of Culture, just as the LDP members asked.
