next generation of mistrust?

It is surprising to learn that Japanese youth has lower expectation for a life than their counterparts in the US, China. In a Japanese survey conducted by Institute of Youth study in Tokyo, Japan, the member of young people who want nothing other than “having a salary to be able to make a living, and having own space to stretch/living alone” surpass the American, Chinese of same age group.

It is also sad to find out that both Chinese and Japanese youth have a poor images of each other, while Chinese young people describe Japanese as “group mentality, fiery temper, cold, patriotic, rule following, patriotic”, Japanese ones describe Chinese as “patriotic, fiery temper, hard working, group mentality, individualism, cold”.

Thus, it is not surprising to find out that compared to 39.6% of Japanese youth who like US, only 10.2% like China. It is not doing any better in Chinese part, 24.5% of Chinese youth surveyed say they like Japan.
