In china, you buy a house but you don’t own it, you lease it from government for 70 years. Besides the reason that all land in China is state-owned, a house in china is probably only going to last for 70 years. And it is not applied to construction industry only, from clothes to toys and televisions, chasing new is wide spreading.
However, In Shanghai, circulation of the used car has become active thanks to Japanese style sale methods.
The reason? Change in urban area emission regulation. Stricter policy in downtown area forces old cars out of the streets, however, for suburban and rural areas, such policy does not apply.
In China, it was normal to buy or sell a car with soiling and the scars were attached, but now, Japanese sales methods is to check efficiency first and the cleaning the cars.
A Japanese expatriate who is in charge of the training Chinese staff cannot hide his feeling, "Because there was no concept of appraisal for a used car, it is difficult to have them to understand evaluation method,"
To own a car for many Chinese is not a dream anymore, but to adopt a new concept is more complex.
