Size matters in traveling far

A Japanese friend, who has been in the US for almost 3 years, told me in flying colors that he and his family have traveled to 13 states in the US. And soon they will go to San Diego to have a spring break. It is one difference living in the US and compared to Japan, where congested traffic and high tolls for roads everywhere discourage people from going far. Besides, the size of the country also limits how far you can go.

In terms of size, China is comparable to the US, and more and more Japanese people come to study, work or live in China. If China has more traffic convince like in the States, I believe, will attract more Japanese to explore china just they do in the US.

(Thanks, Carol, for the comments on my personal account of kidsnapping in China. I will post more personal stories, thoughts as we go along)
